亞馬遜河的奧秘

我們都聽說過廣大的亞馬遜河，它同時隱藏著許多驚悚及美麗的秘密，圍繞這個自然奇觀仍然有很多謎團，神經科學亦是如此。

此圖像使用共軛焦顯微鏡拍攝，呈現人類誘導性多能幹細胞衍生的人類視網膜（綠色）—大腦皮質（藍色）類組織之組合體，使人聯想到 「亞馬遜河」的奧秘。我們用此平台來模擬視網膜退化性疾病的視覺迴路，以及神經相互作用的預期結果。

We have all heard about the mighty Amazon River, which hides lots of scary secrets and some beautiful ones too. There are still a lot of mysteries surrounding this natural wonder, and so is neuroscience. The image is composed of a human retinal (Green)-cortical (Blue) assembloid derived from human pluripotent stem cells and is reminiscent of the mysteries of “Amazon River”, which is the expected result of neural interactions we use to mimic visual circuits in retinal disease using confocal microscopy.
